NEW COURSE

A weekend to create your own beautiful, handmade silk devore scarf. A challenging two day course that will teach you basic dyeing skills in combination with pattern design and screenprinting. Suitable for beginners or those with some experience in either textiles or screenprinting, this new course for LPW is exciting and full of colour and experimentation.

Learn how to apply different dyes to create a two tone effect on the fabric and then apply your own unique screen printed design to really show off this beautiful technique.

Course Structure:

Day One:

  • Learn how to cross-dye your silk/viscose devore fabric.
  • Learn how to create a dye recipe and apply different colours to the different fibre types.
  • Dye fabrics.
  • Draw a motif and transfer onto drafting film ready to be exposed onto screen the following day.

Day Two:

  • Make screens.
  • Learn how to print onto fabric and apply your motif down the length of your pre-dyed fabric scarf.
  • Dry and heatpress the design.
  • Wash out the fabric to reveal the design and the devore effect.
