About the Tutor

Sarah Kirby - I am an artist and printmaker based in Leicester, in the heart of the East Midlands. Since graduating from a Fine Art Degree in 1984 and being a member of the Leicester Society of Artists, I have been working as a professional printmaker producing work for my portfolio, commercial illustrations and private commissions. Over the past 35 years I have also been involved in working with museums, art collections and a number of Art Residencies and I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to regularly exhibit work with fellow artists, both locally and nationally throughout the UK.

Sally Stephens uses the intaglio processes of etching and drypoint in her practice and also some screen print. Her work frequently explores the human face and its enduring fascination. Crowds and collections of faces provide a way to think about how the individual relates to a group, and consider the connections between people. Work is also inspired by travel and encountered images, for example Greek and Roman sculpture and busy city streets. Sally has completed an Advanced Diploma in Printmaking at Central St Martins School of Art and an MA in printmaking at Northampton University. Sally is part of the LPW tutor team and has also delivered several community projects.

Currently based in Leicester, Kate Da'Casto is a fine artist whose practice spans drawing, photography, printmaking, installation and sculpture. Her subject matter is usually about transformation, growth and the emotional resonance of the discarded. Graduating from Fine Art from De Montfort University in 2010, Kate went on to win three prestigious awards for printmaking and her art practice and to exhibit locally and nationally. She has collaborated and exhibited as part of The Attic fine art collective and she has taught Fine Art at Leicester De Montfort University and printmaking at LPW.

Sumiko Eadon is an artist based in Leicestershire working individually and collaboratively. She studied Fine Art in Loughborough University as a mature student. Since her graduation in 2013, she has developed her portfolio through residencies and has exhibited regionally and beyond. This includes AA2A at the University of Derby, LPW’s ‘Our Big Move’ residency, Surface Gallery graduate residency, Nottingham Castle Open, Flourish Award exhibition, the National Original Print Exhibition, London and a solo exhibition at New Art Exchange, Nottingham. She works as a freelance printmaking tutor and has worked with LPW, West Yorkshire Print Workshop, LU Arts and The New Art Gallery Walsall.

Leicester based artist Katy Goodrich has been a part of Leicester Print Workshop for the last 10 years. Starting as a volunteer she then undertook a 5 year apprenticeship at LPW learning all aspects of print and in 2020 Katy became a technician here in the studio. Specialising in screenprinting, Katy uses underwater photographs to create her work mainly using the CMYK colour separation technique.

Robyn Maclennan joined Leicester Print Workshop as part of the technician team at the end of 2021, having been a print fellow at the University of Northampton for 2 years. She holds a degree in Illustration and Animation from Coventry University, a Masters in Fine Art from Northampton and is currently a doctoral research student at University of the Arts London. Robyn specializes in etching and photoetching with a focus on landscape and the ecoGothic. You can find more of Robyn’s work here: www.robynmaclennan.com
